Why We Built This Site
Texas court access can look like one system from the outside, but DeWitt County uses several. The District Clerk keeps district civil, family, juvenile, and felony files. The County Clerk maintains constitutional County Court misdemeanor, county civil, probate, and guardianship records. JP and municipal clerks control their own lower-court dockets. re:SearchTX adds a statewide electronic layer, while LGS supplies the County Clerk’s local public index. Bringing those routes together helps a reader avoid sending a request to the wrong counter.
The distinction also protects accuracy. A calendar entry is not a judgment, an online index is not always a document image, and an electronic copy is not necessarily certified. Official proof must come from the clerk or court that holds the original DeWitt County record.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference. It is not part of DeWitt County, the Texas Judiciary, or any court. As a result, we cannot:
- retrieve an official docket sheet or case file for a reader
- change, cancel, or reset a court setting
- amend, remove, seal, or expunge a record
- issue a plain or certified court copy
- give legal advice about a filing, deadline, or case
- guarantee that a posted fee, contact, or setting has not changed
Only the originating court or clerk can produce an official DeWitt County docket record. Verify current facts with that office.
Search Partners
Sponsored search boxes on some pages are operated by outside providers. Those companies control their results, accounts, and prices. A paid signup may produce a referral fee that supports this free reference. We do not control the provider’s database or charges, and its result does not replace a record certified by the DeWitt County clerk or court.
